HOUSE CONSERVATIVES MAKE MAJOR GAINS ON FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE BUDGET
BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Freedom Caucus is happy to announce major gains made by House conservatives in the fight to keep the spending cap in place. Today, the House passed a budget that keeps spending caps in place, pays down debt for the state and for parish school boards that allow local communities to attract and retain talented teachers through competitive benefits and competitive pay raises.
“The action taken by the Louisiana House of Representatives today is the most significant step toward fiscal responsibility in Louisiana in my lifetime. The budget passed today pays off a significant amount of outstanding debt that has been hanging over our heads since the 1980s, it frees up hundreds of millions of dollars for the next governor and the next legislature to avoid future deficits while allocating almost $400 million for badly needed roads and bridges throughout Louisiana. It does all of that and frees up money for local school boards to raise teacher pay. This is a conservative budget that should make all of Louisiana proud.” said Alan Seabaugh, Chairman of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus.

Great work!! I wonder how much lower our taxes could be if all legislators followed your example. The legislators in South Carolina { my state}, managed to passe a RECORD budget this year. The reason, over half of our house members, according to the web site above, rate closer to how the dems are expected to vote than how republicans are expected to vote! But we do have 10 members who are part of the SCFC.
You can also see how your congressional members rate at the above web site.
