FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DATE: February 28, 2024 CONTACT: press@LAFreedomCaucus.org, (225) 267-7858 CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY PASSES IN LOUISIANA Freedom to lawfully exercise your 2nd Amendment rights is headed to the governor’s desk for signature BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Freedom Caucus (LAFC) is proud to announce that SB1, authored by LAFC founding member Sen. Blake Miguez, is headed to Governor Jeff Landry’s desk for signature. The bill passed the House today with bipartisan support after clearing the Senate with the unanimous support of Republicans last week. The bill allows for law-abiding citizens over the age of 18 to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights in Louisiana. It also leaves the concealed carry permit structure in place for those desirous of obtaining reciprocity with participating states.
Again, thank you for all that you do to keep our freedoms in tact. My husband and I are 91yrs. and have always been active Conservatives until our age hindered us (we were very active in Tea Party) and I was active during the last Presidential election and did some work in our State elections last fall. If God allows I will be working to get President Trump elected this Nov. and whatever Conservative Senators or Congressman who might be running at that time. Again, thank you. Sincerely, Hope and Charles Martin
