Questions of Violations of Anti-Trust Law in their ESG Model Causes Coalition to Crumble

BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Freedom Caucus gives thanks to Attorney General Jeff Landry for his diligent pursuit of the rule of law in helping hold accountable the United Nations-backed climate coalition, the Net-Zero Alliance for its questionable practices that are choking economies and governments across the globe.

Jeff Landry, along with Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, organized a letter to the alliance that was signed by 23 state attorneys general. The letter warned the alliance that its Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) model may be in violation of federal and state anti-trust law in its coordinated campaign to cut off all investments, loans and insurance coverage to what it deems high-emissions industries.

Within weeks of Jeff Landry and his colleagues sending the warning letter in May, nearly half of the coalition’s participant companies, boasting $3 trillion in assets, have fled the project. We owe Jeff Landry a debt of gratitude for leading in an effort to shut down this disastrous ESG movement. The United Nations efforts to force American businesses into compliance with its climate agenda must be stopped. Jeff Landry just dealt a body blow to this $3 trillion attempt to harm American industry.
