LOUISIANA FREEDOM CAUCUS APPLAUDS HOUSE PASSAGE OF CONSTITUTIONAL BAN ON USE OF ZUCKERBUCKS AND FOREIGN MONEY IN ELECTIONS
Only Two Democrats Voted Against the Use of these Funds for Our Elections
BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Freedom Caucus applauds the passage of HB311, a Constitutional Amendment offered by Rep. Blake Miguez that would bar participation by foreign and non-government entities in Louisiana elections.
“A free society must have confidence that its elections are not being stolen. The passage of HB311 will limit the influence that foreign actors, who do not share Louisiana values, have on our elections. The fact that all of the votes against the bill came from Democrats (and 1 Independent) should tell you something about where they stand on election integrity. I am proud of the work of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus on this bill and look forward to putting it on the ballot in October for the people of Louisiana to let their voices be heard,” said Alan Seabaugh, Chairman of the Louisiana House Freedom Caucus.
